Birchbox February 2015

What's in
the box?

Birchbox came today!  I was so thrilled to get it this early!  And it is probably the best one I have ever gotten too!  This subscription is $10 month.  But the best part is the point system.  Save them up and go shop in their store.  You get points for shopping in their store, reviewing your Birchbox samples, sharing on Facebook or Twitter,  and for each box you get. The points system is 100 points = $10 in the store!

This is the funnest box too - the color is so bright and fun!  I am saving them all up like Birchbox suggested - I think they are going to give us ideas on what to do with them.

First Look: EEK!!

BeeKind Conditioner -  ( sample - $1.87)  This is supposed to soften hair and up your shine.  It smells like lemony floral scent.  I like getting conditioners in my box but my only complaint is not getting the shampoo that goes with this.  If you get one, you should get the other!

Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser - ($1.63) This brand has been in a lot of subscription boxes lately but I do not have this product.  I like getting little tubes of cleanser - nice for sticking in travel bags.  I do not know if there is really enough to test this out but I  will give it a shot.

Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Wash -  ($2.52)  This does remind me of a hotel freebie.  It has a cucumber scent though which I like.  What's funny is the link says men when you check it out in their store.

theBalm Read My Lips in BAM! Rose pink -  ($4)  I love this brand - the packaging is so cute and the products are very nice.  This is probably the biggest lip balm I have ever received in a Birchbox too.

Beauty Blender with solid cleanser - ($28.95)  I have been looking at this since I discovered them a few months ago and have not wanted to put out the money.  I was so thrilled when I saw my sneak peek and there it was!  And excited it included the cleanser so I can keep it sterilized.  You can also use this cleanser for makeup brushes too.

Birchbox partnered with Rent Your Runway to get us a discount too!  Of course, it is like $35 OFF when you spend $75 but some people will use it, I am sure.  You can save $25 off $50 for joining the website.

This box had a terrific value for me at $38.97.  I can also review all the products for 50 points - plus the 10 for getting the box and 10 for posting it on Facebook - so that is a total of $7.  For $10, that is a great deal!

Sunday Funday!

I have several items in my carts at Ulta, Sephora, and Birchbox right now!  I love putting stuff in carts and then deciding if I am still in love with them later.  I am an impulse buyer so this helps me think about things for a few days to determine if I really need what I have in my cart or just want it for whole everyone is getting it thing!

Ulta has a store about 35 minutes from my house that I usually have to save up to go to because I cannot leave it without spending over $100.  Right now, in my cart, is the Japonesque Color set.  It is so pretty.  It is $28.

I also have a L'Oreal Color Riche Lipcolor in Spice.  This looked so pretty on the You-tube person I saw it on so I had to add it to my shopping cart.  This lipstick is $7.99.

I had a Beauty Blender in my Sephora bag but now that I am getting one with my Birchbox, I took it out!  I do have this Tony Moly Bbo Bbo lip balm in my cart still.  This is $9.

In my Birchbox cart, I have several non-makeup items.  Kate Spade makes this really cute book mug.  It is $18.

I also have the cutest little macaroon trinket box in my cart. I really love it!  These are $13.95 and I really want the darker pink one and the peach one!

My favorite color right now in makeup is peach!  I love peach - it is my second favorite color next to sky blue.  I have a few of these items (#6, #8, and #11) I but need them all!

How was your Sunday?  Any good shopping this weekend?

TheBalm from Hautelook sale!

TheBalm

Hautelook is a division of Nordstrom that does sales on products that last just a few days.  They are usually pretty good sales, sometimes as much as 50-60% off.  Kohls sells this brand if you are looking for it in your mall.

There were several items from this line that were on my most wanted list - the How 'Bout Them Apples has been high on the list since I got a sample of it with my Birchbox store purchase.

How 'Bout Them Apples? - ($32 - on sale $16)  This lip and cheek cream palette is very cute and I love the packaging!  I think Pie is my favorite shade.  Love that you can use for more than one thing too.  This is really large too - so a good amount of product.

Cindy-Lou Manizer - ($24 - on sale for $12)  This is another product I have been wanting to try since I saw it in Birchbox reviews.  So pretty and love it on!

Nude Tude palette - ($36 - on sale for $18) I love collecting palettes and the packaging on this one is lovely!  Love the names of the colors - all start with S.  There is a mix of matte and shimmer too, but it does lean more heavily on shimmer shades.  Love the little brush and mirror that is included too - I really prefer palettes to have their own mirror at least.

Give Crease a Chance -  ($26.50 - on sale for $13)  I fell in love with double-ended makeup brushes after I got my first one in my Ipsy bag.  So when I saw the two cute ones TheBalm had, I snatched them up too.  I would never buy these at full price so I was very happy they were in the sale.

Crease, Love, and Happiness Brush - ($24.50 - on sale for $12)  According to the website, "The larger end defines your crease and applies eye shadow, while the small end provides a soft, natural lining to your lower lashes."

If I had bought this retail, I would have spent $143.  I got these on sale for $71 plus tax and shipping.  You can also get Hautelook as an app on your phone and they will send you e-mails to let you know what sales are coming soon.

Best of Quarterly Warehouse Sale!

Best of Quarterly:

Glamour Box by Coco

Quarterly is a different type of subscription box.  They ship four times a year and are between $50-$100.  They have a famous person curate their boxes and you pick one of their people to get boxes from.

I luckily found out about this sale the day it opened and was able to purchase the Glamour Box from Coco.  The box was originally $50 but I got it for $25 plus shipping.  The box included a nice little letter from Coco describing each of the items she added to her box and the reason she chose it.

Shany Pink Train Case -  ($34)  This item made up for the price of the whole box - these are regularly $40 but are on sale right now.  I think I am going to split up my makeup by low and high end makeup and put the smaller collection in this one.  I stuck my new TheBalm cosmetics in this one to show you the size of the compartments.

Kisses Print by Coco - I could not get a value for this as it is exclusive by Coco.  Coco told a nice story of getting a print like this from her Peepshow cast and framing it.  So she took her favorite lip colors and did this print for us.   She recommended framing it and hanging it for your bathroom or vanity area.  The colors in it are very pretty!

Coco necklace -   I could not find this online so I do not know the value but I think it is super cute.  It is long enough for me too which is always a problem with some of these necklaces in subscription boxes.

Frost Cosmetics in Barbie Pink - ($10.99)   Coco included two lip glosses cause one is never enough.  I love lip glosses - you could put a lip gloss in every box I get and I would be thrilled!  While I was researching for prices, I found out Frost also does a beauty subscription box and it is $22.  It will contain 9 Frost cosmetic products.  Join here.   I might just subscribe to this one next but I need to down size before I can join this and I have so many I am in love with right now!  This is so shiny and metallic looking I do not think I will ever wear it.  It reminds me of Barbies though!

Frost Cosmetics in Nude Pink -   ($10.99)  This is my favorite color of the two.  It is a very pretty shade.  Coco says in the letter that this is her usual lip gloss.  This is not quite as shiny as the Barbie pink but might need to be blotted a little to be wearable.

This box had a total value of $54.88 and was totally worth the $30~ I paid to have it shipped to me.  This box sold out very soon after going on the sale list.  Loved this one from Coco!  They switch up designers pretty regularly so I think this was box #2 for her.   I would also recommend Nina Garcia's boxes but they are a little pricier at $100 a box.

Thursday Thoughts!

I am linking up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom today with Thursday Thoughts!

Girl Scout cookies came out this week and I had ordered a few boxes.  I love the Tagalongs - my favorite Girl Scout cookie.

I like Sephora so much and still waiting to spend my gift card.   I really want the Urban Decay Naked on the Run.  My JC Penney Sephora is currently sold out.

I have a lot of boxes coming up in the next week and I am so excited.  PopSugar Must Have box was working on getting us our boxes by Valentine's day!  I have not seen any spoilers for this one and I cannot wait!  They have the best boxes.

Ipsy posted a sneak too and I was so excited to see this month's bag!  I love the bag and everything in it.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I am loving subscription boxes! Birchbox, Ipsy, Boxycharm, Little Lace Box, and PopSugar Musthave Box are my current box subscriptions.  I occasionally select a Wantable box because they let you skip when you want.

Ipsy sneak peaks are out if you want to invite a bunch of friends from your Facebook account to join them!   I really liked what mine has in it this month and I am glad I did not cancel.  I am getting the blush I have wanted for months and a nice brush!

I am also in love with cute makeup.  Like so crazy about cute packaging that I have a list of tons of makeup I want just because of the cuteness factor - I really do not plan to use it because it will mess up the cuteness of the packaging!

Tony Moly is a South Korean based makeup line that is super cute.  I do actually use their products since it does not mess up the cuteness of the packages.  I have the cute apple face cream on my nightstand.   They have a lot of his products at Urban Outfitters.

What are you loving this Wednesday??

Sunday Funday!

How gorgeous are these new Stila palettes?  They are so pretty!  They are Body, Soul, Spirit, and Mind.

I am also crazy about these Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cream blushes!  They are so pretty inside and out.   These were on Hautelook and probably will be again in a few months.

Too Faced also came out with these limited edition blush and bronzer palettes, they are called Soul Mates - Carrie & Big - and Ross & Rachel.  They are each $34.  You can get these at Sephora or at Too Faced.

I bought a few of the Tupperware heart containers for $4 online the other day and they finally got here on Friday!  Love how big and cute they are.  I am going to use them for gifts and loyal Posh customers.

I also bought this cute pink Penguin water bottle - I love penguins!  I got the b one - pink penguin.

Paul & Joe is a cosmetic line that did those cat lipsticks from awhile ago!  I wish I could find one but I would never use it!  Anyway, their new Spring collection is coming out soon and look how cute it is?

Sephora actually handed me out some samples with purchase this week and I have fallen in love with a fragrance - Simply Pink by Pink Sugar.

Have a lovely day!  Are you shopping for anything fun today?
