Best of the Palettes!

One of a makeup collector's favorite items is the makeup palette.  Cosmetic companies are always coming out with new palettes because we love them and want every one of them!

I did a poll with my friends to find out what palettes are their faves!  Here's what I found out.

Sephora It Palette - This is my girlfriend's go-to palette.  It sells for $34 at Sephora and is a smoky eye palette.  She had dark hair and brown eyes so all these colors work for her.  I could not pull off most of these colors because I am fair skinned and red headed.

Kat Von D Monarch Palette -   This is a very neutral palette that another of my friend loves!  These colors are nice on everyone!  This is a very pretty palette too - love the Monarch butterfly.  This one sells for $46.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette -       I could not do a favorite palette blog without the Naked line by Urban Decay.  These palettes are bought by thousands and there are so many different ones that every person can find one that looks good on them.   Urban Decay has 3 Naked palettes right now and two basics.  The Naked palettes are$54 and the Basics are $29.

theBalm Nude'tude -  theBalm is one of my favorite lines and this palette is very nice.  It is a super cute package and the shades are beautiful.  This sells for $36.

Too Faced Neutral Eye Shadows -  Too Faced is another great brand and I love this palette.  The shades are beautiful.  The neutrals are the best shades for my coloring and I love every one of these shades.  This palette is $36.

What are your favorite palettes?  What do you like best about them?

Worst Makeup Ever!

I have done so many posts about makeup I love and stuff that works great that I realized I have never told you some of my misses; makeup I would never buy again or is not worth the money.  I would also say that although these items are bad, I would not stop buying the whole brand.  Some of these are my favorite makeup brands; just these items did not make the cut!

NYC Smooth Skin Perfecting Primer - when I bought this I had confused the company with NYX, which I love.  I gave this a few days though just to see if I liked it since the price is so good.  There is a reason it is so cheap - it is terrible.   This primer broke my skin out after using it for three days.   I tossed it.

Be A Bombshell Mascara - There was a huge stink over this mascara when it came out in Ipsy bags a few months ago.  This mascara has a terrible smell and gave some ladies eye irritations.  I tossed mine because why risk it when it comes to your eyes.

Too Faced Lip Injection -    There is a lot of hype about this lip plumping gloss but I did not like it at all.  It actually made my lips hurt and I tossed it.  Making my lips swell up because it feels like it got stung by bees is not worth it to me.

ELF Makeup Mist and Set - This setting spray did not work for me at all and I felt like I was misting water on my face because it made my makeup run when I used it.  TOSS

SO now that I have told you about the worst ones - let me tell you about my favorites of the same type of makeup!

Maybelline Baby Skin - I love this one and use it as a primer.  This has won awards this year and it so inexpensive!  Love my Baby Skin!

Loreal Manga Mascara -  My favorite drugstore mascara is this one right now!  Makes my eyes pop and has good staying power.  It does tend to flake at the end of the day but for the price, it does the job.

Perfectly Posh Luv 2 B Chubby Glossy Lip Plumper -  I love this little lip plumping gloss.  It tastes so good too - bubble gum!  Perfectly Posh uses natural products too so it is safer to use.

Urban Decay Makeup Setting Spray - I love Urban Decay makeup and this is one my favorites from their line.  The stuff does work and is worth the price.  I usually pick up the smaller one at Sephora for $10 when I am out of it.

What are some of your worst and best makeup buys?  What didn't you like about them?

What I am Lovin' Wednesday!

 Happy Wednesday, Owl!

I'm Loving..

Perfectly Posh's All Mixd Ups!  They come in a ton of fragrances and effects.  This is the grouping I bought for $20 and I love all of them!  The Yellow ones are the effects - Soothe Move is an oatmeal bath and the Muscle Through is for muscle soreness.    The Pink ones are fragrances.  You can mix the two so you get the smell you want with the effect.  There are enough in each for 3 baths.

I'm Loving...

This dress a blogger posted on Instagram.  It makes me want to be a princess and have a huge ball that I have to wear this gown to.  Wouldn't that be amazing???  Prince Charming would be there of course to whisk me around the dance floor and into his heart!

I'm Loving...

I am loving these Cute Girl bags I found on Amazon to bag up my Posh sales.  How retro cute are they?

I'm Loving...

This young man right here.  My son is an amazing guy and he makes me so proud.  He is a three sport athlete who puts his heart into everything he does.  He just got his driver's license too so more reasons to worry!  He will make the Army a fine soldier one day!

I'm Loving...

Benefit's Majorette cheek balm - peach magic!  I really want this - hoping I get it for my birthday or at least a gift card so I can get it somewhere!  Love the packaging - the color - must have item of the month!

Allure Sample Society

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Allure magazine puts out a subscription box called Sample Society.  They have totally revamped this sub, Ladies.  It is so much nicer than when I first checked it out months ago.  This subscription is $12 a month and taxes and shipping does apply for some states.

Restorsea Revitalizing Eye Cream - The full size item for this month was Restorsea's eye cream.  This little jar retails for $85 and the best item in the box.  I am sure it is also the reason the other samples in the box were under $10.

Lorac POREfection Matifying Face Primer - This is a nice little sample of primer and it will be used since I love face primers and probably have 6 of them right now.  Lorac is a very nice brand - I love their eye shadow palettes.

Tarte Brazilliance Self Tanning Face Towelettes - These are face tanning squares that you can easily apply.  They do not smell overly strong.  I will be passing them along to a friend as I am a pale person who does not tan.

Alterna Caviar Repairx Re-Texturing Protein Cream - I am excited to try this hair cream as I have heard really good things about this brand.  I have been using a Moroccan Argan Oil cream and love the way it makes my hair feel for the first couple days.

Givency Dahlia Divin Perfume - This is probably my least favorite item next to the tanning towelettes.  I do not like strong smelling perfumes and will pass this on to a friend.

There is a little magazine in the box as well that contains your $10 any $50 purchase on the Beauty Bar.com website.  You can totally get back the price of the box this way - this is another plus to getting this subscription box.

NYX Review of My Faves!

THURSDAY
THOUGHTS

Another one of my favorite cheap makeup brands is NYX.  They have a wide range of products that I love and they are cheaper than most drugstore cosmetics.

NYX butter glosses are my favorite NYX product.  They have really cute names too, like Apple Struedel and Strawberry Parfait.  I think I need the whole line!  Their colors are so pretty and shiny on! These are $5 a piece.

NYX also has a great line of blushes.  These are also just $5 a piece and come in some pretty shades.  I love Peach and Angel.

NYX has some great palettes as well.  I love the shades of eye shadow in these two palettes. The price on these is  $7.50.

Another one of NYX's bestsellers is The Curve.   It is an eyeliner that is nicely shaped to apply your eyeliner.  It won an award last year by Self magazine.  It is $15.

It's Tuesday...Again

I am a huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics!  They released a new blush this month called Majorette and I am in love! I am such a sucker for cute packaging!  Gets me everytime!  So this is definitely going on my shopping list next time I am in Ulta or Sephora!

ELF cosmetics is a really cheap makeup line that I have found several nice products.
My favorite product in their line is their correcting powder.  You can use each of the squares to correct discoloration or use all four together as a finishing powder.  This powder is $3 and can be found at Target.

E.l.f. has a high definition blush that is fabulous.  It is $3 and comes in 5 shades.

E.L.F.  also has a line of Shimmering Face Whips in these shades.  They are $1 a piece. These are dupe for Benefit That Gal and Girl Meets Pearl.

E.L.F is a cruelty free company that offers Vegan products as well at a great price.  This brand also offers a quarterly subscription box for $20 called Beauty Bundle.

Labor Day Fun!

Ipsy announced a sneak peak today on their Facebook page:  Pacifica eyeliner or nail polish.  I am really hoping for the nail polish even though I rarely use it - I would never use the eyeliner they are sending.  I do have two bags though so I might get one of each.

Ciate is having a %50 off sale that ends tonight!  This line is awesome!  Love the staying power and the colors.  Espadrilles is a color I got in a Glossy Box a few months ago and I love it!

Perfectly Posh is celebrating their 3 year Birthday with bundle sales every week in September.  This week is a face care regimen - BFF is Best Face Forever exfoliating facewash and Night and Day is a moisturizer.  Also included in the bundle sale is I've Been Set Up setting spray.

You can also join Posh this month for free shipping - that will save you $15!  The kit comes with all of the below items!  It's $270 worth of product plus business supplies to start your Posh business.  I am so excited about Posh and their natural products.
