YSL VoxBox

What's in
the Vox Box?

Influenster sent me a complimentary box for my testing purposes.  Inside the box, was Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Primer and Perfector.

Touch Eclat Blur Perfector -  ($55)  This is the prettiest compact I have ever seen.  It came in a black felt case with an applicator.  The case is gold and pink that matches the perfector.

This glides on the skin so smoothly and blurs the imperfections.  Your skin has a glow after you use this and it blurs the pores.  It did not feel greasy or slick.  It is perfect for sticking in your purse and touching up in the afternoon.

Touche Eclat Blur Primer - (full size $52) This is one of the better primers I have tried.  It is not sticky and I loved the way it felt on my skin.

This is one of the nicest boxes Influenster has ever sent out.  I know it is the highest value box I have ever gotten from them.  I was very pleased with this and I really love the Perfector.  The case is so beautiful and I am excited to have this to put in my makeup bag.  This is a pricier set than I would usually purchase but I will consider using a discount from Sephora on it when I am finished with this sample.

My Sephora Mother's Day Haul!

What was in the
little black bag?

My sweet husband took me to Sephora to pick out a few Mother's day gifts the other day.
Sephora had the neatest little Benefit and Beauty Blender set that I have been eyeing for a
few weeks.  I also had a palette on my list.  There were so many choices but I think I picked the best one for me.

Tarte has a palette called Poppy Picnic that has several eye shadows and a blush.  The outside of this is just beautiful.  It is a gold, fuchsia, and poppy color.

Inside the palette are 6 eye shadows surrounding a very pretty blush.  These are shades I wear all the time so this will be used quite frequently.

The three eye shadows on this side are summer breeze, sweet tea, and ice cream cone.  The blush is glisten.

On the right side is barefoot in the grass, peach poppy, and picnic basket.

Beauty Blender and Benefit teamed up and came up with 2 beauty blenders, a benetint, and Pore-Fessional.

It is almost time to throw out my old beauty blender so this was a perfect little set for me.  I love Pore-fessional and use them up very fast.  I love benetint too!

I love my choices for this Mother's Day Sephora haul!  Benefit and Tarte are two my favorite lines.

Friday Deals and Steals!

Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty is coming to an end tomorrow - I picked up about 3 of the deals.

I got the Urban Decay eye shadow potion and also picked up the makeup all-nighter spray.  I got the Redken and Argan Oil hair Shampoo and Conditioner as samples.

I also picked up the Laura Geller Highlighter and dual brush when it was on sale.

Too Faced Blush was also on sale during the beauty sale and I picked up two of them - Candy Glow and Something about Berry.

Today the beauty sale is it Bye Bye redness cream and the Fat Girl Sixpack.  Tomorrow is Smashbox foundation primer and Stila lip gloss.

Sephora in JC Penney was giving away sample Purity and Renewed Hope in a Jar to all its VIB card holders so I went in and found a bunch of necessities I needed.  I picked up the Beauty Blender solid cleanser, a Sephora CC creme that was on sale, and Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara.  I received this mascara for my birthday last year and it has become one of my go to mascaras.

Sephora Haul

Sephora Haul

I finally ordered my Naked on the Run from Urban Decay that I have been trying to get since Christmas.  I  was trying to get it in the store near me with a JC Penney Sephora gift card but they never restocked it after telling me for weeks it would be in the next shipment.  I finally just went online and ordered it.  The Tony Moly lip balm was a fun item I added on.

The Naked on the Run contains 6 eye shadows, bronzer and blush, a mascara, an eye liner, and a lip gloss in Sesso.  My larger eye shadow in cool bisque satin was a bit crushed but not enough for me to return.  You can pop this in your overnight bag and be set for the weekend.  I do wish it had included brushes.

I also cashed in my Sephora beauty insider points I have been saving up.  For 500 points, you get a makeup bag, a sleep mask, a face mask, and a long makeover at Sephora.

A nice bonus to shopping online at Sephora is picking out three samples with your order.  I rarely get samples in my Sephora store unless I am looking at a particular item.   I chose the NARS foundation, Living Proof curl wash, and Caudalie eye cream.  The eye cream is the smallest sample but since it is an eye cream it will last.

My Valentine's Day Weekend!

I had a wonderful Valentines day this year!  I got these beautiful roses from my husband and some nice chocolates.

We stayed at the Best Western and got the King bed suite with Jacuzzi bathtub.  It was very romantic.

The bathroom was fantastic!  I loved the heart shaped Jacuzzi tub.  And the shower had those sprayers that spray all over your body!  I am so glad we upgraded to the better room.  It was well worth the price.

This hotel has an indoor pool and hot tub as well as a water park with giant slide.

The Sweetheart package also included dinner and breakfast at Hour Time, the restaurant adjoining the hotel.  I got the sirloin and my honey got the salmon.

My honey knows me so well - we went to Sephora after the hotel to pick up some goodies.   I was almost out of Benefit Pore-fessional and I got the Benefit Roller Lash sample and BareMinerals sample.

I did take him to Menard's so he could pick out his Valentine's gift too!

This is probably one of the best Valentine's day get-aways we have ever had.  I loved it!  What did you do on Valentine's Day?

Sunday Funday!

I have several items in my carts at Ulta, Sephora, and Birchbox right now!  I love putting stuff in carts and then deciding if I am still in love with them later.  I am an impulse buyer so this helps me think about things for a few days to determine if I really need what I have in my cart or just want it for whole everyone is getting it thing!

Ulta has a store about 35 minutes from my house that I usually have to save up to go to because I cannot leave it without spending over $100.  Right now, in my cart, is the Japonesque Color set.  It is so pretty.  It is $28.

I also have a L'Oreal Color Riche Lipcolor in Spice.  This looked so pretty on the You-tube person I saw it on so I had to add it to my shopping cart.  This lipstick is $7.99.

I had a Beauty Blender in my Sephora bag but now that I am getting one with my Birchbox, I took it out!  I do have this Tony Moly Bbo Bbo lip balm in my cart still.  This is $9.

In my Birchbox cart, I have several non-makeup items.  Kate Spade makes this really cute book mug.  It is $18.

I also have the cutest little macaroon trinket box in my cart. I really love it!  These are $13.95 and I really want the darker pink one and the peach one!

My favorite color right now in makeup is peach!  I love peach - it is my second favorite color next to sky blue.  I have a few of these items (#6, #8, and #11) I but need them all!

How was your Sunday?  Any good shopping this weekend?

Saturday Steals and Deals!

I love finding fun deals!

Coastal Scents has some great gift sets on sale right now.  The Revealed palette's are back up to $19.95 when last week you could have got it for $9.95!  The next best thing is this set for $19.95!
The Beauty of Giving Back face palette was at Sephora for $14 the other day.  It retailed for $34 when it came out.  A part of the proceeds went to a breast cancer charity too.

I love all the shades in this one - and that is a rarity!

Another Sephora palette I have been watching for awhile is the All Access Glam Gold Silver Eye and Face palette.  It has really pretty shades in a variety of hues all in one compact.  What I usually consider when I am palette shopping is how many of the shades will I actually use and I can say I would use all of these.

These are some of my faves - this bite lipstick is so fun!  All the shades in the Full Exposure smashbox palette are beautiful! That palette is $22 at Sephora.  I like the Camera Ready CC cream too.

Any new deals I need to know about?

Monday Musings!

Cyber Monday Deals were not suckering me in until I saw the Popsugar preview with the 50% deal!  HELLO! I have been eye balling this one for a few months - sometimes the box is amazing and sometimes its a dud.  Use the code HOLIDAY50 - only good through tonight so hurry!

Sephora online was sold out of most of the items I was looking at but I managed to pick up some of the $10 deals.  These three were still available:

I did some Christmas shopping over the holiday weekend and picked up a great camera for my daughter.  Target had these on sale for $99 on Thanksgiving day~  fantastic deal - saved $130.

Perfectly Posh had some great deals too - I got some Skindelicious body butters and scrubs with free shipping and Seawitch mask.

What deals did you pick up over the holiday weekend?
