Glossybox May 2015

What's in
the box?

I join Glossybox off and on as spoilers for fun stuff come out.  I did not get it cancelled in time so I also got May's box.  Glossybox is $21 a month and has high-end beauty products in small and full size.

Doucce Mineral Matt Lipstick in Cherry Blossom -  ($20)  The case on this is so super shiny.  I do like the packaging and the color I received was a nice mauve color, not too bright or loud.  That is one nice difference between some of the other boxes and Glossybox - not too many weird shades here.

Teeez Trend Cosmetics Head Over Heels Nail Lacquer Base Coat -  ($14)  Teeez is one of my favorite brands from overseas.  This is an item I use when I do paint my nails but hate to buy so it was nice to get in this box.

Clearista Retexturizing Gel - (full size $80)  It was nice to try this as I would never buy it full size.   It is an exfoliating gel that is paraben free.

Sebastian Professional Stylbrid 9 -  (full size $20) This is a multi-benefit hair spray without parabens or alcohol.  I am very happy to try this and you can use on wet or dry hair.

Glamglow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment -  (full size $69)  This is another product I would never buy in the full size.   There is an offer too for 30% Glamglow products with the code GLOSSYBOX30.

Tidbit: Glamglow was originally created for behind the scenes use for actors seeking an instant camera ready look that would last for days.

This box seemed to be thrown together with odds and ends they had in the warehouse.  We received two exfoliating face scrubs too which I have never seen them do before.  The rest of the box's variety was there but the box did not wow me.

Under the Sun Limited Birchbox!

What's in
the box?

Under the Sun Limited Edition Birchbox is now on sale in their shop for $55 - I used a coupon code and my BB points and got it for $34 with the add on mystery samples.

The box for this one was so pretty and I loved the green color inside it.

Sugerpova Flirty Gummy Candy -  ($5.95)  The tennis star Maria Sharapova has started a candy business and these are the gummy ones shaped like lips.  They are really good and so cute.

Baggu in sailer stripe -  ($7)  I have gotten this bag in another box and I love them!  I would have really liked the elephant one but I can go purchase that one now.  I will use this often.

Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Cameo - ($24) I was very happy with the shade I got in the box.  It is very pretty and is a color I wear every day.

Cynthia Rowley Beauty on the Go Multi Blush and Bronzer -  ($24)  These are so pretty and are easy to apply.  I really like this cosmetic line - packaging is so pretty and this is nicely pigmented.

 This is the blush:

  This is the bronzer:

ncLA Swim Club nail lacquer in Bikinis and Martinis -  ($16)  This is so pretty a shade! I love it! I love the size of this bottle.

Supergoop Mineral Sunscreen -  (full size $28) And what would an Under the Sun box be without a sunscreen!  Love this!  Happy to have a travel size too. I can pop this right in my purse.

Knockaround Premium Sunglasses - ($14.60) I loved that there were sunglasses in this box!  I can never have too many pairs - I lose or break any sunglasses I get so these will get used.

Chloe + Isabel Medina pendant necklace -  ($38)  This is beautiful!  I love that the value of this is more than what I paid for the box!  I love the little bag this came with as well.  CUTE!  This is like getting two necklaces in one since you can wear them together or as a set.

Mystery Bag -  ($10 or free with $35 purchase) I received a Mereadesso moisturizer and a Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle leave in spray.

This was a fantastic limited edition box - the best since the Mermaid box, in my opinion! It had makeup, candy, household items, and accessories!  The perfect box as far as I am concerned.  I think all I was missing was a lotion! The value was well over $130 so I more than got my money's worth.

Loot Crate May 2015

What's in
the box?

Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box for about $20 a month.  It is geek-tastic!  Each month has a theme and this month's was Unite!

Each box comes with a pin for that month's theme.

Bravest Warriors tales From the Holo John - this is an exclusive for Loot Crate and is bathroom humor comic book. How funny!

Unite The Stupid MAD magazine -  THis is another exclusive and I remember wanting MAD magazine when I was younger.

Rick and Morty 300 piece puzzle -   ($6.98) Another Loot Crate exclusive and we love doing puzzles in our family.  We usually do them in the winter so we will be saving this.

Avengers Age of Ultron Decal -   We just saw this movie this weekend and it was really good!  I will probably not put this on my car but my husband might.  My daughter recently got a skateboard too so it might end up on that.

Team Fortress 2 Collector's set buttons -   I did not have a clue what these buttons were but my daughter plays online games so she knew all about them.  I think the pink unicorn is the cutest thing ever!

Marvel Ice Cube Tray -  ($7.99)  This may be my favorite thing in the whole box!  How fun is this?  I can make Marvel super hero ice now!

Green Ranger T-shirt -  Loot Crate has been putting a t-shirt in every box lately and we are loving it!  My daughter's shirt wardrobe comes from this box and Hot Topic so we are always thrilled when it includes a t-shirt.  She was also thrilled it was not black - as a majority of Loot Crate's tees are black.

There were also exclusive Marvel shoelaces in this box but my daughter snatched them before I could get a photo.
This was great box this month and had a ton of stuff we will use.  It was well worth the $20 we paid for it.  There were so many exclusives, I could not get a value for this box.

Monday Musings

Memorial Weekend just flew by and I hope everyone reflected on what the soldiers of the past did for our country and its Freedom!  I was an Army brat growing up so Memorial Day always has a special place in my heart.

I had a great mail day on Saturday - my Under the Sun Birchbox, a second Birchbox, the Bando agenda, and Kenzie's Loot Crate.

Bando has the neatest agendas on their site right now and I grabbed one of the smaller floral ones for my next agenda August 2015 to 2016.  This has stickers, page decorations, and it can lay flat.  I am excited to start using it in August.

I got a multitude of sales emails this weekend!  Everyone was offering a deal.  I only picked up one deal this time.  Josie Maran was on QVC over the weekend and I grabbed a makeup set that included a blush and mascara.

Did you grab up the deals?

Thursday Thoughts

I am linking up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom today for this blog page.

I am new to collecting makeup - the only other MAC collection I have is the Cinderella collection.  MAC came out with a limited collection called Wash & Dry - I picked out a blush and a lipstick.

The lipstick I picked out was Tumble Dry.  This is the prettiest lipstick I have ever bought!  I am not too thrilled with the pigment of it, however.  It is more of a lip balm consistency.

The blush I picked out was Hipness, in a light peach.  There is not actually much blush in the container but I bought it for my makeup collection, not for everyday use, so it is fine.

Jelly Pong Pong will be selling these adorable little lip balms called Lip Orchids - and they will come in Pink Petal and Bouquet.

Red Nose Day was today and my sweet son was nice enough to wear it for me to post today.
He is a real sport and I am so proud of the man he is becoming.

SoSusan Lip Love Subscription

What's in
the bag?

How much: $15.95
How often: Once a month

This subscription bag is from a cosmetics line out of England.  They send you a bag, an accessory, and 3 makeup items and a bonus item each month.

The Theme for May was I LOVE VACATIONS!

I would also like to mention the list of things that So Susan cosmetics is proud of:

 • No Mineral Oils
• No Phthalates
• No Parabens
• Hypoallergenic
• Non-comedogenic

100% Cruelty-Free (We do NOT test our products or ingredients on animals)

The sailboat bag -  ($12) I was thrilled when I saw a spoiler of this bag on their website!  How cute is that little bay with the sailboats?  I almost bought it before I realized it was the bag of the month.

Anchor bracelet in green -  ($10)  This is nice little bracelet and I will wear it a lot this summer.

Play Paint by Jelly Pong Pong -   ($13) This is a lip and cheek paint. It is a very bright shade - perfect for summer.  I love products that do more than one thing too.

Lightning Crew by The Beauty Crop - ($18) I cannot believe this little tube is $18 - but it is really pretty highlighting cream.  I picture it more for younger ladies hitting the clubs though so I will be passing it on.

Light Diffuser by So Susan -  ($18) I love the packaging on this line of cosmetics.  The website explains how to use too - "Usage : Using the contour shade, apply along the hollow of your cheeks and blend upward to create the illusion of sculpted cheeks by creating shadows. Dust the illuminating colour over cheeks, temples, nose, décolleté, or anywhere you want a boost of soft, radiant color. Try sweeping the shades onto the eyes for a gorgeous, shimmering shadow."  This is scented in dark cocoa and coconut too - YUM!

BONUS ITEM - Creme Couture blush in terracotta -  ($16 - on sale now for $13.33)  This is a lovely cream blush in a great shade for me. I love the packaging! And it also smells really good.

The value of this bag is about $75 and it is a great way to try out the So Susan line without spending a lot.  I really recommend this one.  You get a bag, an accessory and makeup!  LOVE that mix of products!

Tuesday is Monday's Ugly Sister!

Birchbox has come out with another limited edition box called Under the Sun!  This box has cute sunglasses, a reusable bag, a necklace, candy and more!  It is my favorite new box since the Mermaid Box...  Use your points and try one of these codes - WELCOMEBACK20, COMEBACK20, MOBILE20, TAKE20OFF for 20% off or BEAUTYMAVEN for %25.  Some codes may be expired or only work till a certain date.  Do not forget to go to the bonus shop and add the Mystery sample pack to your order as well!

I tried to enroll back in Ipsy in time to get this month's bag when I saw the peeks since I was crazy about it.  But sadly, it enrolled me for next month.  My mom was a total sweetie and gave me her Ipsy bag this month.

Walgreen's has a collection of Disney makeup and bags that has been coming out for several months.  I have been collecting them - I have Elsa, Ariel, Snow White, Jasmine, and now Belle and the Beast!  They only had lip balms at the time - but there were several others bags I have my eyes on.

I was very happy to get a coupon for a Domino subscription in my Birchbox this month - and beyond thrilled when I saw how much Birchbox saved me!  A year's subscription is $47.99 for four issues and the coupon we got gave us a year for $12.  I probably will not get another year but will gladly give $3 an issue.

Ban.do is another cute little website I frequently peruse to find fun stuff!   They just came out with these really super fun agendas.  I picked the flower one.

I am still waiting on several boxes this month - Loot Crate, SoSusan Lip Love, and Glossybox.  I am also waiting on a gift from Little Lace Box and orders from Birchbox.
