Birchbox November 2015 Review

What's in
the box?

Birchbox sends monthly hair, skin, and hair products for you to sample and check out before you buy the full size item.  They have an online store that is fantastic - and you earn points that turn into cash to spend in that store.  I have a hard time saving up my points - I usually spend it when it gets to $20, especially if I have a discount code.

The box this month is gorgeous!  I love these colors!

Sumbody Milky Rich Salt Scrub -  (full size $18.95) I will be passing this on to my Swap Buddy since I sell Perfectly Posh and we have the best scrubs.  I do like this has lots of natural ingredients.

eSalon Perfect Ending Leave In Conditioner -   (sample $3, full-size $15.95)  I love leave in conditioners - they are one of my favorite hair products.  I like to use them every time I wash my hair.  I like the size of this tube too - sometimes the samples are not very big.

MAKE Face Gloss  (full-size $25)  This is a very small tube but you only have to use a pea size amount so it should last. I am not sure I would buy this in the full size, but it is fun to try out new products.  I love this line of makeup.

LOC One & Done Shadow Stick in Impress Me (Deep Rose Gold) -  (full-size $10)  Birchbox has developed it's own makeup line with the help from Tati Westbrook.  These are very reasonable and I love the colors that they come in.  They also have a lip line too.

Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris -  This perfume will also be passed on to my Swap Buddy - I have a hard time with perfumes.  Usually I am allergic to them unless they are fruity.

I thought this was a great box - I will only be swapping two of the five items and will earn 60 points - 50 points for reviewing it and 10 for buying it.  100 points equals $10 in the store.

Purchased.  All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Glossybox April Box

What's in
the box?

This box had me at the cover!  I had already cancelled this box but when I saw the preview of this box on Instagram, I jumped at ordering it.  Glossybox ships for $21 a month and is a great quality box.

How pretty is this box?  I love the makeup theme.

First look:

Marrakesh Ends Argan & Hemp Oil Therapy - ($5.99)  I always love getting this type of hair product in my boxes; I use these every time I wash my hair.  I will be buying this in full size.

Enlighten from Estee Lauder - ($15~)  The full size is $62 and I have never bought it but I have gotten a few samples in my many boxes.  I have liked the way my skin felt after this but I prefer my Perfectly Posh Sweet Dreams.

Julep's Gel Eye Glider -   ($16) I do like this brand but I do not use eyeliners frequently enough to like getting them in my boxes.  I will pass this on to my sister who loves eye products.

Obsessive Compulsive Lip Tar & Stain-  ($18) I have gotten this before in boxes and have been very happy with it - although these usually do come with a little brush for application and this one did not have that.

Aerin Waterlily Sun - ($20)  This smells so pretty and reminds me of Spring.  I am happy with the size of this sample too - I have a dozen small vials of perfume. I prefer this size.

Thursday Friday bag -  ($25.50) This is an exclusive for Glossybox but similar bags ran for $25.50 and I love this.  It is so gorgeous and I will use it for my lippies.  There was also a mystery gift card in the pouch to use on their website.  Still deciding what I want to pick.  The gift card is for 50% OFF!

I came up with a value of $100 for this box; a great buy at $21.  I am most excited about the Thursday Friday bag and gift card.  Definitely happy I picked up this box.   It has a great variety of products and a lifestyle item.

Birchbox points order!

Birchbox Points Order!

I really try to save up my points but I usually find something I want to get at a time when they are offering a great free item with purchase.  This time it was a Toni & Guy set that made me spend my points.

My daughter really loves the Beauty Protector line you can get through Birchbox so I picked up this cute little set for her Birthday this week.  It is the Jet Set kit and comes with hand cream, body cleanser, shampoo and conditioner, and a leave in conditioner.  She absconded with my leave in conditioner the first time I got it in a Birchbox and has been asking me for a refill for awhile.  This set is $22.

I have been looking at these Pinch Minimergency kits for awhile also and picked one up as well.  These are $16 and contain 17 items.  This is perfect for your purse - it is small and contains essential items.  I think this would be perfect for a bride to have on hand for the wedding and honeymoon.

The Toni & Guy set included a bag, gloss serum, and a texturing spray.  I am crazy about this bag.  It is so pretty.  I love the size of the texturing spray and I will use all of it.  This was free with purchase of $35 using the code TONIGUYKIT and was while supplies last.

On your 13 month anniversary, the next time you add a cart, your Birchbox key chain will be added to your cart.   I also added a Mystery sample kit to my cart.  I received the Stainiac from the Balm and SeaRx Anti Wrinkling serum.  I have been given both of these before but I will use them.  I purchased almost $70 worth of product for $30 and got a free gift.

Birchbox March 2015!

What's in
the box?

Birchbox is a monthly sample subscription box for $10 a month.  You get 5-7 samples in each box that you can review for points.  Earn 100 points and that is $10 in your Birchbox account to spend in their store.

The theme this month is Creativity.  Birchbox is also encouraging you to save the box - they might have some ideas at the end of the year on how to recycle your box.

Roloxin Lift Revitalizing Facial Treatment -   ($22)  The description on the sample says this is comparable to Botox!  It is supposed to reduce pores, fade wrinkles and last for 24 hours.

Elite Therapeutics Rosemary Eucalyptus Body Creme -   ($1.12 - full size $19)  I have never heard of this brand.  These rosemary eucalyptus smells do not agree with my asthma so I will be passing it on to a friend.

Jelly Pong Pong Glow Getter Highlighter  -   (full size $12.75)  This gel formula is not as heavy as some highlighters but very shimmery.  I do not like that it contains parabens.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave-in Conditioner - ($9) I have been wanting to try this one since I saw it for sale in my Ulta.  I love leave-in conditioners because I use them all the time.

Liz Earle Cleansing Cloths -  (~$4 - full size $25.50)  This is another Birchbox goodie I have been wanting to try without putting out the full price for it.

This Birchbox was another win for me.  There are several items in this box that I have been wanting to try.  My boxes have just been getting better and better.

Glossybox October 2014

WHAT'S IN
THE BOX?

Glossybox is a monthly makeup, skin, and hair product box that ships for $21.  I signed up late October with a code to get a free Alex and Ani bracelet.  So I just got the October box and will get the November box soon!

I love the Glossybox box - it is sturdy and perfect for re-gifting!

First Look:

I love when Glossybox pairs up with Alex and Ani for a free bracelet gift.  This one is for Energy - embrace the power of positivity.  It is very pretty.  This will not be in every box unless you used the code when you signed up last month.  The value on this bracelet is $38 so this more than paid for the box this month.

Vince Camuto Amore -  ($5.74)  This is the prettiest box and prettiest little perfume sample I have ever seen!  I want to keep box forever! This is going right by my bedside so I can see it every day.  The scent is also very light and is fruity too not just florals.  The full size bottle is so beautiful

Nails inc, Matte Top Coat -  ($10)   This is a good idea to use when you are painting your nails with a really light color - put this on first to hide your nails and then paint away - saves you from doing several coats too - Ramblings Jen gave me this idea!  I was surfing around their site though and found another bottle I want- Crystal Cap Nail Polish.

Proganix REPAIR. Reparative Oil + Anti-Breakage -  ($11.99)  This is a leave-in oil to put in your hair after washing - which I use every time I wash my hair.  My daughter straightens her hair daily so this bottle will get used up right away. I do want to try one of the other options from this box - the Anti-Fade Hair treatment from the same company.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint (Flush)-  ($24)  Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands - I got this product in Exposed just a few months ago.  I really like these lip tints.

Sesha Skin Therapy Cell-White Brightening Mask - ($9)   I am not a full mask person so I will probably pass this on to my mother who loves them.   It is supposed to brighten the skin.

The value of this box was $60.73 plus the bracelet price makes it $98.73 - I paid $21 for the subscription.   It is always a good idea to sign up for a box when they are offering a free gift with such a great value.  Did you like your box this month?  I think it was a little better than a few past months.

Ipsy November 2014

What's in the bag?

Ipsy is a monthly glam bag for $10 a month that comes with makeup, hair and skin care samples.  I have been a member for months and just love this subscription.

The theme for this month was Girl Meets Glitter!

Each shipment also comes with a cute little makeup bag.  I love the silver glittery one with a pink zipper that came this month!

You also earn points for reviewing your items and when friends join with your link.  I finally saved enough points to earn these pretty Milani eye shadows.

J Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint (Red Potion)  - ($4.99)  These come in all variety of shades and for that price, stock up!  This shade was a bit dark for me but maybe I can tone it down a little.

Be a Bombshell Eye Base (Submissive)  - ($14)  You can use this as a base before eye shadow or just as an eye shadow.  I really like how cute Be a Bombshell cosmetics are!  I like this shade too.

Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil (Ultra Orchid) - ($17)  This is a purple eye liner - not sure if I will ever wear this, but never say never.  My sister is obsessed with purple so this might be a stocking stuffer for her.

Temptu S/B Highlighter (Pink Pearl)  -  (full size $27.50) This is the tiniest little sample.  I will be interested to see how it compares to my Elf favorite whip.  I like the shade I received too - they really listen on those questionnaires we take about shades.

Marc Anthony True Professional Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Hairspray -  (full size $8.29) Every product I have tried from this line has been great.  My favorite is the Beach Waves I received a few months ago in an Ipsy Bag.

I have to say I was pleased with this month's bag - four out of five items were makeup products.  That is a good bag!  The norm lately has been two out of five.  And only two of this month's items were a smaller size.

Thursday Thoughts!

Thursday Thoughts!

When I want to waste time, I pull up Pinterest or Instagram and just surf around -
sometimes I find the prettiest things - like this post:

I found this Samy hair cream at Wal-Mart and I love it!  First of all, it smells like orange dreamsicle!  So YUMMY!  Second, it makes my hair soft and de-frizzes without making the curls hard like mousse.  And third, it is super cheap!

My theme for my big birthday next week is Paris!  I love Paris - here are the plates I picked out on Amazon:

I also found these super cute napkins to go with them:

I have been looking for these cute soap dispensers for awhile!  Target sells them online but I could not find them in the store.  I was shopping at Mejjer the other day and there they were!  Minnie's hand wash is in strawberry and Mickey's is lemon.
