Birchbox October 2015 Review

What's in
the box?

Birchbox is a sample monthly subscription kit for $10 a month.   The real value in this sub is the online store and the points you earn every month.  You can turn these points into money in the BB store.

The box this month was decorated for October Breast Cancer Awareness and it is beautiful.  I love this gorgeous, marble pink.

Stila Huge mascara -   I have wanted to try this mascara for awhile - it was my choice of the month from the 5 mascaras we could choose.  I am loving how this feels on my lashes.

Klorane Dry Shampoo -   I have received this dry shampoo in many boxes and it really is not my favorite.  I will be passing it along to my BB swap buddy! (Hi, Swap Buddy!)

Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream -     This is a lightweight cream to moisturize the skin.  I love the moisturizer I already use so this too will go to my Swap Buddy.

Bio Republic Aloe Rescue Mask -  I have gotten this mask several times in boxes over the last year so it too will be passed on to my Swap Buddy.

Number 4 Lumiere dhiver Fluoro5 Elixir Restore & Repair -  This is a hair oil - I love hair oils so I cannot wait to see if this lives up to the Number 4 reputation.

I would say this was not the perfect box for me since I am swapping out 3 of the 5 items.  I do love the two that I am keeping, however, so that is a nice trade off.  I also get to review the items (most of which I have already tried) to earn more points for spending in the online store.  I really do not know how people save them up because I usually cave at $20 worth.  Do you get Birchbox?  Join here.   If you do, did you get some great samples this month?

Purchased.  All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

PopSugar Must Have Box May 2015

What's in
the box?

PopSugar Must Have box ships to your door for $39.99 a month.  This month's theme was Glowing Skin, Mother's Day, Beach Bum, C0lorful, and California Sun.

First Look:

Every box comes with an info card describing the contents.  May was so pretty with the oranges and yellows.

Surf, Sand, and Love towel by Sisters of Los Angeles - ($40)  This towel is a beautiful yellow and so soft.  It is large and perfect for the beach.  I would never spend this much on a beach towel so I was thrilled to get it.  It must have also been designed just for our box as you cannot find it on their website.

Kitsch necklace - ($32)  This was our spoiler a few month's ago and it is so pretty.  I love sterling silver.   It is so dainty and I love it.

Middle Kingdom Mini Plum Vase in Coral Red -  ($20)  This is more orange than red so I love it more than when I first saw it.  It is a sweet little bud vase.

Sage & Row Bare Shave Cream - ($17)  This is pretty expensive for a shave cream so it was nice to get free so I can try it first before spending that price.   I like that it is free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, mineral oils and alcohol.

Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry - ($4)  This is probably the only item I was not happy with - not the actual product but the size of it.  It is very tiny and I have long, thick hair.  This will not last long.

Hammond's Candies McGraw's Flat Taffy - ($1) This taffy is delicious - and they had me at banana!  I was thrilled I got my favorite flavor.

I was very thrilled with this box.  I have already finished off the Taffy and was thrilled with all of the products because I will be using them all.  The value for this box was $114.

Birchbox November 2014

WHAT'S IN
THE BOX?

Birchbox is one of my favorite subscription boxes.  They have great customer service and a point system that beats everyone elses!  Earn points subbing, reviewing, and buying products in their shop.

Birchbox has a very informative product card that comes in every box to describe the products.

The choice this month was between the Happy Holiday Hacks box or picking from 3 products.  I chose the Happy Holiday Hacks because it had a candle and a lip balm I have been wanting to try.

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24hr Mascara -   (full size $35.96)  Really, how cheap must mascara's be?  I get one in about every other sub box!  I have tons.  I will just start gifting them to my sister because I will never get them used up.  I do like this brand - have several items from it.

AMIKA Perk Up Dry Shampoo-  (full size $21)  This is a cute little bottle and I do use dry shampoo - so this is a win.  The bottle is also cute which means I am more likely to use it.

Greenleaf Signature Candle in Silver Spruce - (full size $17)  This is a very strong spruce candle.  The scent does grow on you so I think it will be nice to light this holiday season so I can pretend my Christmas tree is real.

Dr Jart+ Pore Minimalist Mask -  (full-size $35)  My question is how did they give us a sample of a mask - is it just for one side of your face?  Weird.   I might actually use this one since it is for large pores and has charcoal in it.

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips -   (full-size $14.50)  This is the main reason I chose the OMG box - I have wanted to try this without purchasing the full size.  This is a little bigger than a quarter but should last awhile since you don't use that much on your lips.

After seeing some of the other boxes Birchbox chose for some people this month, I am wishing I had just let them pick.  I think next month I will do that unless the box they put together has more than two items I want in it.  Did you like your box this month?

They came with a cute little sticker too.
