Target Honor Roll Beauty Box

What's in
the box?

I was able to swipe up the other Target Beauty box as well:  Honor Roll.  Again, these are always $5, free shipping, plus taxes.  These boxes sell out the day they are added to purchase online.

Again, the box was a nice size and perfect for gift giving.  Just decorate over that target symbol and you have a beautiful gift box.

The theme for this box was Honor Roll.

The Bathery Delicate Pouf - ($1.99) I can always use one of these!  And I love the purple color.  These get you nice and sudsy.

Olay Fresh Outlasts Body Wash in White Strawberry -   (Full size $4.99)  I do not even purchase body wash anymore - being a Posh consultant, I am crazy about our Chunk bars but my daughter will probably use this for overnight trips.

Burt's Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes -   ($2)  These are another set of towelettes I will use right up.  These are good for taking on trips, camping, or to outdoor sporting events or concerts.

Cover Girl Outlast all-day Primer - ($9.79)  This is the item where the real value is!  This is twice the box - and I will give it a shot since it was in my $5 box.  I wondered why the items had not been that pricey up until now and this is the reason.  Cover Girl really wanted us to try this and love it.

John Frieda Luxurious Volume 7-Day Treatment -  ($2)  I do not know if there is enough product in here to try it for seven days but I will give it a shot.  I do like John Freida hair products.  I have used his Radiant Red shampoo and conditioner a few times.

NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait -  ($4.99)  These are always awesome to get!  I love their butter glosses.  I do not have this shade which is a bonus!

Another great beauty box by Target.  They knock these out of the park.  Another box over $20 in value.  And I will get to try a few things I have never tried before which is always a plus.

Allure Sample Society November 2014!

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Sample Society is a monthly beauty box that comes to your door for $15 a month plus tax.  It also includes a $10 your $50 purchase on beautybar.com, so that helps refund some of the cost of your box if you like coupons!

Your box will include a nice little magazine that describes in detail each of your samples.

First Look:

Lorac Cobra Mascara -  It will be nice to try this but I have so many mascaras, I will have to bump it up to the front of the list.   Lorac is a nice brand and I do want to get their eye palette one day.

Reveal by Calvin Klein -  I am not real fond of perfumes in my box so this will probably be gifted to someone else.  I am very sensitive to fragrances.

MD Creme Mineral Beauty Balm-  This is a BB cream with sunscreen.  The formula is free of parabens, mineral oil and synthetic fragrance.  It is a tiny little sample - just a few uses.

Maelin + Goetz Bergamot Body Wash -  This is a citrus scented body wash that contains sulfates.   This stuff is expensive too - $18 for 8 ounces.  I will be passing this on to someone else as well.

Alterna Caviar Anti-Aging Omega + Nourishing Oil -  Every box contains a hair item as well - I like the Alterna brand.  This formula is free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and synthetic color.   They recommend this for medium to thick hair.  It should also not be put near the scalp as it is oil.

I did actually cancel this box after seeing the reviews for this one.  Most of the items I would not use and end up donating to others so it is really not worth the price.  What did you think?  Was there one product in here that makes it worth it to you?

Birchbox October 2014

WHAT'S IN
THE BOX?

Birchbox is a monthy subscription box that is $10 a month, everything included in that price.  It is a variety box; so you will get makeup, hair products, and/or skin products.

The best thing about Birchbox is the point system.  Review your products on their site to earn points; which turn into cash points to spend in their online store.  And that store has some great products!  Household items, makeup, skin and hair products, and so much more.

This month during the selection period I chose the ModelCo lipstick.  It did not come in my box but Birchbox has the best customer service I have ever dealt with - seriously, they will make it right!  E-mail them and you will be happy about the results!  They are shipping my lipstick to me separately at no added cost.

Model Co Power Lash Mascara -  ($24)  This is probably the reason my Model Co lipstick did not get added to my box.  This is a full size and so this is more than double the value of my Birchbox.   Again, I have so many mascara's that it will be a long time before I have to buy one - I might buy some just because I want to try new brands.

Calrisea Sea Salt Rapid Detox Charcoal Exfoliants - I have a tub of this I got in an Ipsy bag a few months ago. I will use it though so it won't go to waste. This is pretty rough so make sure you moisturize afterwards.

Essential Elements Shower Gel -   This is the product I liked least from this month's box.  I think this smells like medicine and I do not like it at all.  I like my shower gels and bath bars to smell yummy.   It says the scent is rosemary and mint.

Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum - I like that this has retinol in it for anti-aging.  When I was a teenager, my acne cream had retinol in it - I wonder if this has long term effects to help with wrinkles.  This says it also minimizes large pores - which I will definitely check out.

LuMesh - this is another small lip gloss -  the full size is really cute.  And lip gloss is my favorite makeup product next to eye shadow palettes so I love to try out new ones.

I was happy with my Birchbox but it was not my favorite month.  I like the variety of the box and I did get two makeup products which is good for a Birchbox month.    I was really hoping to get the beauty blender with cleanser but maybe another month.  What did you get this month?

Blue Velveteen September 2014

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Blue Velveteen is a brand new subscription box that started this month!  It is $10 a month. They had kind of a rocky start - their initial box was given to several bloggers to spread the word but the box the bloggers got was not the box you got if you signed up for the sub box.  This caused some disgruntled customers as you can imagine.

The box is really cute and the little blue square is velvet!  Mine did not have B V on it like other boxes I saw reviewed.

First Look:

NYX Ultra Pearl Mania Eye Shadow -   ($3)  These little shimmery eye shadow comes in a variety of colors.  I received the Penny color which is a coppery color.  I really like this shade on me so I was happy with it.  NYX is one of my favorite brands so I was thrilled to get something from the line.

Sexy Bath And Body Lavender & Chamomile Calming Body Wash -  ($4.50)  This is a very nice little tube but I am allergic to a combination of these two fragrances so I will be passing it along to a sister.

Ciate Mini Mani Polish in Tweed -   ($2)   This is a cute little polish and I love Ciate brand - the photo here does not do it justice however.  It is a gold color with shimmery aqua and navy.  I cannot wait to wear this holiday season!

Macadamia Nourishing Leave In Cream -  (~$2)  I just got this in a Conditioner from my Birchbox this month so I was happy to have something else from their line.  I love leave ins so can never have too many.  The packet is a nice size too so I will have enough for my thick, long hair.

Blanc Pearl Caviar Toner Skin Brightening and Anti-Wrinkle Effects -  This toner is expensive so it was fun to get a few samples of it in my box.  This is a Korean skin care product.  I have just recently become aware of the great skin care products from Korea.  I do not really know what the value of these would be; a couple of dollars I would guess.

The other boxes that went out included all of the above (excluding the Blanc Toner) with a perfume, lip gloss and hair tie.

While this box did not have the value I would normally like, it was a nice little box with lots of new products to try.  It reminds me of Birchbox but without the point system.  I am very interested to see what they do with next months box.

Birchbox August 2014

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?

Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that is only $10 a month.  If you do a review on the items in the box, you can earn points to spend in their store.  100 points = $10 to spend - every review earns you 10 points.  I like to save up my points to get something from the store I would not spend the money on normally.

They gave a choice this month of choosing between three makeup items or the Everygirl box, where you know the 5 items that will be in the box.  Since I was not interested in the the 3 makeup choices, I chose the Everygirl box.

The first glance:

Acure Brightening Facial Scrub  - This is actually what I was most excited about in this box - this contains no parabens. sulfates and parabens and since I started selling Perfectly Posh, that is more important to me now.  I want to stay away from those chemicals.  This is a very nice size sample, too, for face wash.

Not Soap Radio -  This soap smells amazing!  Lemony fresh!  And also Paraben free!  I do like the size sample this time too!  Usually there is a small sample when it is shower gel!  This will last a few times.

Benefit They're Real Push-Up Liner -  I have wanted to try this since it came out!  It is a very small sample though!  Benefit has teeny tiny samples!  And the full size of anything costs about $30.  I wish they would lower their prices.

Hello! Harvey Prince - I usually do not like getting samples of perfume because they are usually overly flowery and bother my asthma.  This one is fantastic!  I love this perfume!  There is a hint of floral but it is fresh smelling with a hint of lemon and grapefruit.

Number 4 Prep & Protect -  I received this in my mystery free pack when I ordered products from the store last month.  I love how it makes my hair feel!  You put into your wet hair after a shower and come it through and leave it in.  My hair felt so soft.

This was my favorite box bar none!  I loved every product and am very happy Birchbox gave me this choice this month!  Keep it up, Birchbox!  You have a loyal customer here.
