Birchbox Review December 2015

What's in
the box?

Birchbox is probably considered the grandfather of the subscription boxes.  For $10 a month, you get 5-7 samples based on a very detailed quiz you take when signing up.  They never repeat a sample and you can review every sample for points that turn in to money in their online store.  Even if I dislike something, I can earn points - and when you fill out the review, it is noted.  You can see other people's reviews of the products in the store under that product.   There are sales, coupon codes, and bonus add-ons for the box.

Birchbox gave us a $10 gift card for Christmas - when you purchase $35.  I really would have just liked the $10 with no conditions.  I have free shipping as an Ace member.

Soap and Paper Factory (Green Tea) Shea Butter Hand Cream -   (full size $18) This is a nice size little lotion to get - it is just right for putting in my purse.  I like this very much.

The Balm Frat Boy -  (full size $21)  The only issue I have with this is how small their samples are - these full sized items are so expensive and they really do not like to give you any product!

Here is a pic of the tiny little blush sample.

Malin + Goetz Clarifying Clay Mask -  ( full size $48)  I was surprised I had not received this product in the past.  I have so many products from them from Birchboxes.

Coastal Scents Style Eyes (full size $12)  This is a small eye shadow sampler for Coastal Scents.  I have a one of their large palettes and for the money, it is a good deal.

The colors I chose were some of my favorites.

Kate Spade Walk on Air -   (full size $25-$95)  I have selected to receive perfume samples the least amount of times possible in a year but the last several have contained one.  I did not mind getting this one, however, because it smells so pretty and I would wear it.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this month's box.   I like so many of the items this month!  I will only be passing one on to my swap buddy - the clay mask from Malin +  Goetz.   I received a blush, an eye shadow, a lotion, and a perfume that I will use.

Complexion Perfection sampler was one of the bonus buys you could add on your box shipment this month.  For $20 it was a great buy - the beauty blender is $20 by itself.  You get sample sizes of the The Pore-fessional from Benefit, Lightning Crew by The Beauty Crop, Marcelle BB glow, and W3ll People invisible powder as well.  I was very pleased with it.

Little Lace Box August 2015

What's in
the box?

Little Lace Box is a bi-monthly subscription that has been fabulously curated by sisters.  It is $59.99 bi-monthly and $49.99 bi-monthly after the initial payment.   Right now, Serendipity is free for subscribers of Little Lace box as they work out the glitches with their little bag that ships on the off months of Little Lace Box.  Serendipity is $9.99 for
non-subscribers.

The theme of this month's box was Elizabeth and Mr Darcy!  This is my favorite Jane Austen book.  I love the European flair of this box!

My Shea-Rona Shea Butter -  ($19.99) This is the same scent I recieved in the scrub two months ago in this box and I really was not crazy about it - it is a bit too floraly for me.  I will use it to soften my feet.  I am really wanting to purchase the You Leave me Peachless though since I love that scent.

Define Me by Jennifer McKay Newton  (Audry) -  ($36)  Audry "is inspired by love and believes it is always the answer."  This scent is described as jasmine, peony, rose, and sandalwood.  I have a slight problem with sandalwood - it is pretty light though so I might be able to wear it still

Bouquet of Flowers by Bouqs -  ($40) We get to order a bouquet of flowers for one of our gifts from the box.  I think this is a really personal choice and I am actually glad they could not send me one with the box because I have flower allergies.  I need to pick them out for myself.  This is a nice little online floral service that does not charge shipping!  Check them out!

The Elizabeth and Mr Darcy Flower Vase by Mary Rose Young- ($124 w/shipping) This was created especially for the Little Lace Box and it is beautiful.  It is my favorite thing in the box and if I did not love it, it probably would not have been that great of a box for me.  The vase has two roses on it that symbolize Elizabeth and Mr Darcy.  The artist made two other pieces that fit nicely with this one - a shoe and a saucer.  It was fun to search around the site and the price is actually a bargain for her pieces.

The box had an amazing value this month and I was impressed by the hand-crafted vase made in England.  I am glad I loved the most expensive item in the box or I would not have thought this month's was worth the money.  The box had a value of almost $200.  The October box, the theme is “Authentic Autumn – Be Your Authentic Self” and will feature a box full of wonderful items that will allow you to get creative and show your authentic self.  October is my birthday month so this will be a nice box to end the month!

Did you get the Little Lace Box this month?  What are your thoughts?

FabFitFun Summer 2015

What's in
the box?

If your looking for another lifestyle box to try out, I recommend this one.  FabFitFun is $49.99 a quarter and contains beauty, fitness, wellness, and fashion items.  I really like the variety in this box.

First Look:

Hello Konjac Cleansing Sponge in Pure White -   ($12)  I have never tried one of these sponges but I have heard about them. I love bath and body products so this is a win for me.

FabFitFun and CosmoBody Jump Rope -  ($14) This is the fitness item this month and my athlete son can use this.  I love the pink color but it really does not matter to him.

The Everyday Wireless Speaker by FabFitFun -  ($29.99)  This is probably my favorite item in the box!  I have wanted one of these for awhile and I love the pink color.

tarte LipSurgence lip gloss in Blissfull -    ($19)  I really love this lip gloss - I already own one. They sent the right color for me too, a warm peach.  tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands.  This is the beauty item in the box and it is perfect.

Nail Wraps by Scratch -  ($12) This is the only item in the box I did not like.  I am horrible at nail wraps - and I rarely paint my fingernails so these are usually gifted to someone else.  If you do like nail wraps, check out their website.  It looks like they have a mani monthly box.

Inkling Scents Sultry Roll-On Oil Perfume -   ($25 )  My whole box smelled like this - it leaked.  But it does smell really good and I like the size of it.  Most perfumes come in the tiniest sample containers.

Gorge I'll Make You Look Amazing Daily Spray   ($24.95)  I love this type of spray!  BONUS!  It is actually one of my favorite things to get in my Birchbox.

Wren 14K Gold and Black Sapphire Necklace -  ($100)  I think this is really pretty, but wow, the price.  This is well worth the price of the box too.

Headspace 3 Month Subscription -  ($38.85) If all those goodies were not enough, we also get a 3 month sub to a meditation app.  It says Gwyneth Paltrow and Emma Stone use this site as well for calming.  It says to try this at your desk to rejuvenate yourself.

Vaseline Intensive Care Spray moisturizer with aloe lotion -   ($6.49)  Being a Perfectly Posh consultant, I am very picky about my lotion.  I do not like parabens. The spray is not continuous either as advertised.

The value on this box was $282.00 - wow!  I actually loved this box - the variety and a majority of the items.  It might be a box I continue getting because the value is so high.

Little Lace Box February 2015

Little Lace Box is a box I have been trying to sign up with for months!  They open enrollment and boom! the boxes are sold out.  I finally managed to grab the February one whose theme was "The Lovers, The Dreamers, and Me.

Their little enclosed letter indicated that this was not the box they had envisioned for this month's theme but due to the dock workers strike in California and the winter storms on the East Coast, the artisans have had trouble getting the supplies to make the products for this month's box.  I am super excited to see where this box goes as the past boxes have been amazing.

Whitley Designs earrings -   ($14.99)  I could not find these exact ones on the website but these are perfect for me.  I would pick these out from any of the other ones on their website.  Simple and elegant and silver.

Beekman 1802 Goat Milk Original Fudge Sauce -  ($12.99) They had me at FUDGE!  I will love putting this over my ice cream tonight.  And they recommend eating this with a spoon.

Beekman 1802 Bling Bath -   ($15) I was a little disappointed I did not get the Tub Truffles but this should last me a long time - so I am thrilled about that.  The smell is a little overpowering - hope it smells better in the water.

Pink Arrow Stationary by P. Press Papers -  ($12.99)  I love little note cards.  I often stroll the Target note aisle to look for cute note cards - just cause.  These will be used to send my sweetie love notes.

Hula Bliss Milk Lotion by Dancin' Goat Skin Care -  ($4.50 sample; $17.99 full size) I did not like the scent of this when I first smelled it, but it grows on you after you apply it to your skin.  This was a nice little bonus item.

This month's box was a mix of things I love - jewelry, lotion, chocolate, paper and bath products.  It was a big win for me - I will use everything in this box and not have to gift anything to others.

So it was a tough month for the Little Lace Box ladies but I am super excited to see what next month's box includes - the theme is "Here Comes the Sun."   Another great thing about Little Lace Box is that they understand if you need to pause your subscription one month - you can e-mail them and ask to skip.  You can then e-mail them again when you are ready to start it up again.

Perfectly Posh New Spring Summer Catalog!

What's in
the catalog?

Perfectly Posh's new catalog is out now and I am in love with all the new products! I do sell this brand and this post does contain affiliate links.  Our products are natural and most are Vegan.  We do use three by-products from animals:  beeswax, milk, and honey.  We do not test on animals.  We are made in the USA.  Our products do not contain parabens, paraffins, sulfates, lanolin, or fillers.  I also love that all of our products are $25 and under.

Snarky is a scent that our creator developed - it is fresh smelling and wonderful.  You can get it in the hand creme, Snarky exfoliating bar, and Skindelicious lotion.

The Daily Grind body scrub is one of our biggest sellers.  It aids in the prevention of cellulite and cleans the skin.  It now comes in an exfoliating Daily Grind Coffee scrub snarky bar.

Hey Honey is a healing hand creme that smells of lemon and so delicious!  It is my favorite hand creme.  And now it comes in a healing body creme!  It is a nice sized tube too!

We Put De Lime in De Coconut is an invigorating body scrub that smells of lime and is used to exfoliate and scrub with an exotic island twist.  Viva Senorita is one of our new chunk bars and it too smells of lime and sea salt.

I think I am most excited to try our Zone Treatment Face Mask Kit.  This has 3 separate mask treatments to target your combination skin:  a Charcoal Pore cleaning mask, a Plankton & Menthol calming mask, and an Oil Reducing & Control mask.  It comes with a brush for application to just the area you need that mask on.  What a great idea!  We also have a new perfume roller with the It Girl scent.  I am in love with this scent - it is grapefruit and apricot and smells wonderful! And at this price - $14 - it is probably the cheapest perfume I have ever bought since I was a teen!  Lash Pop! Lash Growing Serum is a product to help lash growth in 2-4 weeks!  I know a lot of women who have lash issues and want fuller lashes!  Now you can get this serum to help with lash growth!

Apricot Overnight is a moisturizing mask you wear all night.  I'm Shrinking is a pore reducing mask to use on those trouble areas on your face.  And finally, Pore-fect is a face washing bar for pore cleansing.

We also have some new products for the feet.  Heebie Jeebie foot peel kit is a one time use foot mask that includes a peeling gel, protective pink booties, and polka dot socks.  Walk on the Beach sand scrub is for the getting those feet ready for the beach.

We have three new Skindelicious lotions - Snarky Butter, which I have already talked about.  Castaway Coconut is new and really smells like Coconut!  We consultants have been asking for this for awhile - our other products with coconut in the title have not smelled like coconut and were misleading.  Farmer's Market is a body lotion that smells of watermelon and cucumber.

Seas the Day chunk bar is another new chunk bar that smells of cherry margarita and has shea butter in it.  We added another item to the It's a Posh Life line - a Lemon Berry Lip Butter.  And finally, they brought back a huge best seller - A Peel To Me Snarky Bar!  This is an exfoliating body bar that smells of oranges!  I use it on my feet to keep them from getting cracked.

Those are the new products for our Spring and Summer catalog!  I am so crazy about all the Posh products and am so happy I joined Posh last summer.  It has been so fun trying the new products and showing my family and friends this amazing company.
