Thursday Thoughts!

It is Thursday so I am linking up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom.   Her blog is where I find most of the boxes I want to sign up for and she posts about deals that are out there too.

My sister just signed up to sell Younique - it is a makeup company that is trying to go more natural without parabens and the like.  I ordered a few eyeshadows due to their buy 4 for $35 deal.  My colors are very similar - all are browns: Daring, Confident, Beautiful, and Infatuated.

I had another fun order from Julep come in this week too.  I ordered so that I could get a free evening clutch and it also had a free nail polish in sparkly gold.  I selected a nail polish in a very pretty blue, a textured sea salt spray and a tote bag.

My best friend Mellany has twins who are having a birthday this coming month and I ordered them a box from places I knew they would love.  For the girl, I ordered a Boodle Box.  Her favorite color is pink and the theme for February was Pretty in Pink.

For the boy, I got a Nerd Block Jr box - he is really into all of these characters and video games so I think it will be a big hit no matter what he gets in his box.

MAC Cinderella came out online today and wow!  I think a bunch of it is already sold out.  I ordered a lipstick in Royal Ball and the iridescent powder.

What are your thoughts today? Ready for the weekend?  Any big plans?

Loot Crate February 2015

What's in
the box?

Loot Crate is a subscription box that contains a variety of items for gamers, youtubers, and the like that is about $20 a month.  It is my daughter's favorite sub box.

First Look:

Each box comes with a little monthly booklet that talks about the theme of the month.  This month's theme is Play.

Ready Player One by Ernest Cline -  ($8.68)  The cover says ... "Willy Wonka meets The Matrix" so this should be an interesting book.  My daughter reads this type of book so it was a win for her.

Munny World -  This is an exclusive for Loot Crate and they are doing a contest - decorate this to win a prize.  First place is $500 and a bunch of other cool stuff.

Superfight:  The Loot Crate Deck -   (exclusive)  Card games are coming back - I have not heard of this one but Cards Against Humanity is all I hear about from my brother.

Rock Paper Scissors Dice Game-   What a fun idea - a dice game version of the hand game rock paper scissors.

Pac Man poster -  This small poster was also included in the box.  My daughter likes Pac Man so it is cool.

Box Board Game - You can open up the box to create a board game.  There are instructions included in the box on how to play.

Hex Bug Ant -  ($12.99)  These are really fun and I have been giving my kids Nano Bugs in their stockings for years.

Loot Crate button - Every month there is a button in the box for that month with the theme on it.

There were a lot of exclusives this month so I did not do a monthly breakdown but this is a great box.  It was very fun and there are lots of games to play.

Next month, the theme is Covert and there will be a t-shirt included.  There will be a replica prop from Marvel's Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and an Orphan Black item.

Julep Cupid Mystery Bag!

What's in
the box?

I found out about this great Cupid Mystery bag Clutch deal and was excited to get it!   I have not bought any nail polish in awhile but really love the Julep nail polishes.   This special deal was $25 with free shipping.

First look: love these colors!  They remind me of Valentine's Day!

Clutch -   ($)  I love this little clutch.  It will be perfect for night's out.

Gel Eye Glider in Smoky Plum -  ($10) These are really smooth gel liners and this is a really dark purple.

Lip Gloss in Splendid - ($10) I really like this lip gloss and the shade is just right for me.  I am a lip product person so this was perfect to get in my mystery bag.

Julep nail polish in Rochelle (It Girl) - ($14/$10)  This color is so pretty and may be my favorite one in the box.  It is very shimmery.  I love shades of burgundy so this will be going right on my toes.

Julep nail polish in Margit (It Girl) - ($14)  This is another shade I would wear so that is a big plus!  I like neutral tones.   I would have picked this out for myself.

Julep nail polish in Yuki (Classic with a Twist) - ($14/$11.20)  This is a glittery top coat.  So pretty! Not sure what under coat color I would choose but this is fun.  I could not find it on their website anymore so it might be discontinued.

Julep nail polish in Joanne (Boho Glam) - ($14)  This is another dark shade I would have bought for myself.  It is a more fall and winter color too.

Julep nail polish in Valentina (Bombshell) - ($14/$11.20)  This must be sold out on the site right now - I could not find it to link it.  It is a glittery top coat.  I think it would look pretty with a pink under color.

Very happy I grabbed this cute little bag mystery item from Julep.  This had a value of $84 and was perfect.  I love the colors in this and the extra makeup items were nice.

Friday Deals and Steals!

Julep has some really good deals going on right now!  With any $25 purchase, you get this clutch and polish free by adding REDCARPET to coupon code.  This has a $44 value.   I picked up a blue polish I have been looking for, the sea salt spray and a tote bag I think my sister will love.   Also, free shipping with any $25 purchase.

My little sister just started selling Younique.  I have seen a bunch of their ads on Instagram.  I am looking into their 4 pigments for $35 deal.  They have some very pretty browns.

Sephora has an Urban Decay palette on sale right now for $16.  The Ammo Palette is on sale right now and is so pretty.

Sephora's It Palette is on sale right now for $19.  There are several lovely colors in this palette.

Tarte is one of my favorite makeup brands and this palette is on sale right now at Sephora.  The Golden Days and Sultry Nights is on sale for $24.

And finally, it is not on sale but I have put it on my wish list:  Lipstick Queen's Ice Queen for $24.

Boxycharm February 2015

What's in
the box?

Boxycharm is a subscription box you can get for $21 shipped to you monthly.  It guarantees 4 full size items and 1 deluxe item.

There are Boxy charms you can earn from reviewing the products sent to you to earn products in their store.   It looks like it will take about six months to get something free unless you find people to sign up with your link.

This month's theme was Kisses from Boxycharm.

First look:  very pleased!

Muellin & Sparrow's Mini Facial Mask -  ($15 deluxe)  This is a clay mask, just add water and you use it weekly to refine pores and provide gentle exfoliation.  It is a deluxe size - the full size is a little bigger.

Mistura Beauty Solutions C-2-P Complexion Corrector -  ($36.99 CND)  This is the big value item this month and I cannot wait to try it.  It will be going into my makeup bag right away.   It says you can use it as a concealer, spot treatment, or foundation.  This was a problem item in many boxes; it was broken.  Glad to see mine came in tact.

Jing Ai Velvet Shine Lip Jewel in Pink A Boo:  ($22)  Wow - this is pink.  It is a really pretty lip crayon.  I think I need to get the Pink Star one now.  This was an item where you could get a different shade too.  Lots of girls were happy with the Raspberry Ice.

ncLA Nail Laquer in Heart Attack -  ($16)  This is the prettiest nail polish - I love the little hearts in red and pink.  I found it really hard to paint my nails with this and get the right number of little hearts without too much polish but it's cute.  It was hard to get it open - had to wrap it in a towel and twist really hard.

Modern Minerals Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush -  ($15)  Again, I love getting brushes in my boxes.  They are pretty expensive to get nice ones so whenever I can get a good one in a box, I am thrilled.

I was very pleased with this month's February love box!  It has a lip product, a facial product, a tool, a nail polish, and a face mask.

Thursday Thoughts!

I am linking up with Ramblingsofasuburbanmom for this post.  She has introduced me to several subscription boxes and products.

Track season is now upon us.  My son is a three sport athlete and it works out that he is in a sport all year.  He starts in Cross Country in the fall, then goes into Wrestling that lasts almost till February and then Track practice starts.  We are a busy sports family - running him back and forth to practices and to meet the bus for meets all year long.

Devin is such a great kid and I am proud to be his mom.  He is thinking of joining the Army when he graduates, to serve our country.   I think right now he is leaning toward Firefighter in the Army.

MAC is coming out with a Cinderella collection - it will be online on February 26 and in stores on March 5.  I will be watching for this one.

Birchbox announced their theme: Creativity and their choices for the March box - all hair products.  Beauty Protector Protect and Oil, amika Bombshell Blowout Spray, and It's a 10 Miracle leave-in Product.   I am probably going with the It's a 10 spray since I have been wanting to try this for months.

There is also a special curated box called Beauty Solutions.

It contains:

derma e Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Creme SPF 15
Laura Geller Blush 'n' Brighten
Dear Clark Volumizing Hair Tonic
Supergoop! Eye cream
Whish - Three Wishes Body Butter, Almond

What are your thoughts today?  Anything exciting on the horizon?
